Screensaver is a tool which allows you to use a pre-loadable desktop background on your screen. The screensaver will start to load every time you boot up your PC, and then it will display a series of images for your computer to use to fill the space in between the booting up process. It's a very nice feature as it means that you don't have to wait for your computer to load before you have a good image to use on your screen, instead you can have a new screensaver every so often. However, there are a few things you need to know about using this tool. Here's what you need to know to make sure that you get the best results with your screensaver.
The first thing you need to do to make sure that your screensaver player works right is to set the appropriate screensaver options to display. The screensaver options you need to be able to control are the resolution, the color depth, and whether the background is static or animated. You also need to be able to select the number of frames your screensaver will load each time it starts. You can find this information by going to Start > Accessories > Control Panel > System Tools > System Settings and clicking Screensaver. From there, you should click on the 'Create' button and then click on the tab that says 'Open Default Screensaver'.
If you need to get more advanced features then you can just start typing the basic commands at the command prompt and then hitting Enter. It's possible to also install a graphics tool called xinerama from a third party software provider to enable higher resolutions and better color depths. Be careful though not to install too much software in order to use one tool - Xinerama is already very large. You might want to install just one or two Xinerama tools so you don't have to run everything at once and so you can also use your screensaver player easily without having to be concerned about any of the other applications.
